What are people planning to do for terrain?

My first building. I’m aiming to do enough different pieces so I can mix and match terrain for different scenarios, From city to rural.

Is going to take a while to fallout this building me thinks…

Thread for paints, sounds like a good idea to me. I’ve been painting for quite a while, but I only do a passable job. I’m always up for learning something new.

I LOVE those Gnomes. Great find.

Yeah, I was pretty happy with those when I found them. I searched ebay for 15mm gnome and managed to find them that way. Apparently they are for something called “Fairy Garden” but they scale very well for this. I also saw some lawn flamingos that I’ll likely pick up a couple of eventually too.

Post where I originally shared the info about the gnomes:

On a side note, I found some batteries for my camera today, so I’ll try to get some better pictures, and pictures of more stuff soon.

UPDATE: Updated this post to share the link to the post where I shared the gnome information originally for ease of reference.

I found another supplier of very useful scatter terrain that looks perfect for the retro-futuristic world of fallout…http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/product-category/terrain/

Take a look especially if your looking to outfit building interiors. Fairly cheap too.

Ah that is very cool I will have to order a bunch of stuff from there, those generators look like they will make nice replacements for a fusion generator to power a town.

Nice. Looks like they have a few useful items that would look great on the table.

While replaying fallout 4 I noticed there are a mass ton of the jersey style street barriers scattered around almost any street you come by. When I placed a order for some terrain I found these damaged jersey barriers by tiny terrain fit for the 28 mm scale. They come in 5 different styles from no damage to gun damage or even explosion damage thought you all might like. They seem to be pretty cheap to buy as well. I ended up getting one of each so once they come in mail I will take pictures of them on the table.

Not only good terrain but their miniatures game, 7Tv, is also quite good.

I’ve been thinking about picking up a few pieces like this too. Just finished blowing my hobby fund though, so it’s going to have to wait for a month or so.

I prefer Sarissa Precision (UK) over TT Combat for MDF…a bit pricier but they have interior walls and being in the US their flat 2.5GPB global shipping rate helps offsets the increase in price for me. Retro Americana line best fits FOWW:

I do really like TT Combat’s resin scatter terrain. They also do some cool accessories that they include with their kits, i.e. shelves, pallets, etc with their distribution depot.

Death Ray Design’s (US) has some great lines. I’m using their Deadbolt’s Derelict line for my vault - it has a great Vault Door:

Blotz (UK) has some nice items. Check out their Sci-Fi Walkway - great match for the barriers outside the Cabridge police station in FO4:

I’ve picked up a fair number of O-scale train cars/track. If you have a good train store in your area ask for their used O-scale stock…and some places that do repairs will have some cast off parts you can get on the cheap. I’ve also picked up a fair number of 1/43 & 1/48 scale vehicles off of Amazon at good discount. Tear off the tires to use for scatter terrain and go to town weathering/rusting them up. I bought a couple of military models at the right scale (Tamiya, Revell, etc) like a V-22 Osprey to proxy for a Vertibird until that is available and a B-17 bomber that I’ll build in pieces rather than as a complete model…I still need to build those. Having received my Vault Tec Bundle they just dropped much lower on the priority list.

Rather than post photos here you can check out some of my terrain on IG @flagrant_geek if you’re so inclined.

nice shout on the sarissa precision samiam i can see the motel set and trailers making an excellent board

I was looking at that and thinking it may be worth it for the trailer houses to do a little trailer park themed table at some point as well as the pool and do it up so it looks full of rotten stagnant water.

Ultimately they look fairly priced if the models are as nice as they appear. Not sure if I’ll pick any of them up though since I already have quite a bit of other stuff.

The wooden barrels and wagon wheel with the sci-fi style shipping containers in the first image made me think of the tv show Firefly. Good times. That alone was enough to put a smile on my face.

I like the wall piece terrain you have. It’s got a nice aged feel to it.

Looks like your dogmeat and deathclaw are painted in a kind of tan color? And the alien is a sort of soft green color? Did the camera not catch much detail? Still working on them? Or simply going with a simpler color scheme for your models? (Nothing wrong with any of those. I figure I’ll have all of mine primed by the end of the week they arrive (Keeping my fingers crossed that they arrive tomorrow) but I doubt I have more than a dozen models painted by the end of the year. :stuck_out_tongue: )

Great start with some terrain, hope you share more!
