Official Product Wishlist Part II

They’re mostly made up numbers, anyway. Use what you need for your game. Each ship is going to have a different crew complement anyway based on mission and current status. I think a few dimensions and crew complements have been mentioned on screen, but anything else is conjecture from early non-canon sources that have permeated fandom for decades.

Personally, I go there because I’m interested in other data such as crew complement (also one of the things that HeruKane was asking for) and max warp speeds. Those are the kind of stats that my players often ask me for in-game and which I need a way of quickly looking up.

If you’re only concerned with length, then yes, the Wixiban jpegs sound like they’re a better resource (though whether or not they’re official isn’t really that relevant: the DITL numbers for the Centaur class come from the DS9 Technical Manual, which was published both under an official license and written by the designers from DS9).

Er, 7 (according to both Memory Alpha and Spike’s Star Trek Page - tbe best costume reference I’ve found  ) - although that does include ST V’s mysterious blueshirts (they’re not marines, honest!).

What I was going to ask was regarding the Tricorder set - is there an internal container/drawer for the dice and counters or do they just sit in little bags on top of the books or rattle around loose? I’ve not been able to make that our from the photos!

Good question. We looked into making a slide-out option or some form of … storage compartment … for the dice, but they were a) expensive and b) fragile. So we decided to just leave the interior of the box open. The dice will be in the box along with the other stuff, probably either in a bag or loose. I suspect a bag but I haven’t seen the production versions yet.

@Ships
While I’d love a ship book (including deck plans) I can understand why it may not be a priority.

For myself I use the old LUG Trek books, especially the Spacedock book, 5 Ship Recognition Manuals and the Dominion War source book. They are WAY over detailed, but they have stats from size and speed to crew and reactor type. A LOT of super awesome technobabble can be lifted directly to the game.

Two small excerpts from one of the books:

HULL SYSTEMS
SIZE: 7
Length: 349.54 meters
Beam: 251.76 meters
Height: 98.41 meters
Decks: 20
Mass: 760,000 metric tonnes

PROPULSION SYSTEMS
WARP DRIVE
Nacelles: Type 6C6
Speed: 6.0/9.0/9.6 [1 Power/.2 warp speed]
PIS: Type F (9 hours of Maximum warp)
IMPULSE ENGINE
Type: Class 4B (.65c/.85c) [6/8 Power/round]
Location: Aft, port and starboard
REACTION CONTROL SYSTEM (.025c) [2 Power/round when in use]
POWER SYSTEMS
WARP ENGINE
Type: Class 9/O (generates 450 Power/round)
Location: Amidships
Impulse Engine[s]: 1 Class 4B (generates 38 Power/engine/round)
Auxiliary Power: 3 reactors (generate 5 Power/reactor/round)
Emergency Power: Type C (generates 35 Power/round)

Standard Usable Power: 488

Details on crew and even types of quarters. A far too detailed system for me to use in game as I said, but awesome to look at the ship record and use it in babble.

Ah, understandable but disappointing! I’d assume they’ll arrive in a bag of some sort, far too much chance of damaging the books otherwise.

I’ll have to see what room there is and what options I have for fitting my own in. I do have some decent plastic business card cases that might do.

Dear Mr. Linedeveloper,

what comes next?
What products are in the pipe this year after the Tricorder Set and the both Guides?

The Pakled Campaign Boxed Set
The Twins Species Guide–Bynars and Miradorn
Work Bee Tactical Combat Simulator
Mazes and Mugatos: STA 5e conversion

You heard it here first.*

*Release schedule subject to change

All this reads as plausible so if we have that last one, it could be fun for like a holodeck games set in fantasy worlds like dnd makes it for easier conversion.

“I am Barbarian, I am Strong!”

Margarutas!

But seriously, I’ve got a bunch of releases for this year and the marketing team and so forth are working away at prepping announcements and graphics and press releases, etc. All in due time, balanced with all the other products Modiphius releases these days.

Like I said last year, y’all should save up your latinum. There are some nifty products coming out over the next 22 months.

I think The Path to 2409 is probably as detailed a thing as you could get, given that the rest of STO’s lore/story happens in-game, and I assume they wouldn’t want it all “spoiled” in a sourcebook rather than having people actually play the game. They removed it from the website, but I have a copy here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B6ewnvQWdQZ-lPQwh3EXbvlRW9_WrCW9cmvqCn2aIQk/edit?usp=sharing (it still appears in-game at the Academies, but in a chopped-up format).

The main problem is that even though STA does incorporate numerous things from the beta canon (novels etc.), it seems to generally hew close to canon, and given the events in season 1 of Picard, STO is wholly incompatible with the canon post-Nemesis timeline.

I want more ships, and a Romulan sourcebook.

I would love to see a special operations sourcebook. Black Ops in the Star Trek setting. (We know that they do some… see TNG: Chain of Command. Not to mention all the Section 31 episodes in DS9 and Discovery.)

I would love to see NPC character cards like the ones I’ve seen for other games. There could be ally packs that feature Starfleet crews from across the galaxy and enemies to help provide shortcuts for determining NPC histories, personalities, and motivations.

Here’s an idea I’m gonna toss out.

“The Lower Decks” now obviously this could (assuming the lisence covers it) address stuff from the lower decks series, but a big part of it would be fluff and background as well as rules for what people on the lower decks do. sort of a “Campaign guide” for those looking to do their own lower decks game. a lot of the rules assume (fairly) bridge crew will be the focus. but there’s proably an intreast in playing “the little guy”

When are the Lower Decks and Picard crew PDFs coming out?

I’m aware of the Section 31 blurb in the Operations manual but it’s not enough. I would love to see a full on intelligence supplement. including regular Intelligence bureaus and the ultra coverts like Section 31, Tal Shiar, Obsidian order etc.
I would love to see a whole section on gadgets and equipment as well as ship frames and traits.
