Have you considered using seafoam trees? They have a proper apocalypse feel to them and as they are a real plant they have a natural shape to them that works on all scales
For my first shaky steps into terrain building I decided to attempt a semi-modular design to allow for increased set up options. The tin shack is 3 separate wall pieces and the roof is also 3 separate pieces. I’ve used the roof pieces as walkways up to the top of the storage containers and walkways between them as well.
I’m currently working on 2 less modular ruined buildings, but my schedule suddenly got hectic and slowed my pace considerably.
