Modified melee weapons

Howdy all
Checking through the npc stat blocks i see a lot of the more common melee variations from the mini game ( AP Sword, Shock sword etc etc) but there seem to be no way as of yet to allow players access to these, just the ranged options by specialising guns.

So have anyone tried out just allowing the ranged system of modification on more common melee variations (Swords, knives, axes… no AP Tesseum choppers eh?)
Seeing as there is even EXP Melee weapons around in the mini game

Or have this been somewhat covered in one of the as yet released books?

Maybe you could follow the steps of range weapons with standard ammo to special ammo rules?
But why?
A mono blade or teasum claymore finish also the job!
