Ok no worries didn’t realise there was any hint/teaser for a new model for ED E though thanks for letting me know and hopefully you can get back to painting soon
EDIT:If anyone was interested I didn’t get far with my ED-E conversion and will now probably wait till it comes out but I did manage to finish the iconic number plate
Too long since I posted anything here. Got a couple of WIP items, but wanted to share what I’m working on this evening right now.
Camera didn’t focus as well as I would like. But these are some WIP rubble I got my hands on recently.
Finished these up a few days ago and never posted an update. Hope you all enjoy:
Nuka Cola machine added to show scale. It was the closest official model I had. The set includes 15 pieces and the price averaged out to about $2 each. The pieces are sturdy and came unpainted. All I did was paint them (Which was really easy. Primed gray, drybrushed hit with a black wash, then drybrushed a lighter color. Brown followed by Army Painter’s rust effect for the metal bits, and chopped up a couple of static grass tufts to tuck into convenient places. Probably 90 minutes of work for the entire set.
I liked these well enough that I have ordered up some of the larger pieces from the same company.
Much better/clearer pictures
This is a sample of the stuff I’ve been printing since getting the 3d printer up and running yesterday. Working on a proper Robot Workbench right now.
Fresh off the printer. Black one is the official model to show scale.:
I can honestly say that these are some of my favorite prints ever. Going to use these (Going to print at least one more set of them) to supplement the official models and add some visual variety to the table.
Still WIP, but coming along. My Children of Atom shrine. Got to finish up the Nuka Cola bottles, dirty up the nukes some more, plant the banner, got a skull with a candle on it I’m going to place on the Valt Tec crate and got two bottles I hope to paint up like the glowing bottles in the Children of Atom locations. Otherwise very happy with how it’s coming along.
This is a mashup of a lot of things. Barrels and Vault Tec crate are official models. Banner is Warhammer Fantasy. Nukes and statue are from Dungeons & Lasers 2, stand for statue is a square base. Have a couple of 3d printed bottles that will likely make it onto the base too by the time I’m done.
Almost done. Got a pair of bottles wrapped in twine/rope I want to paint up like they’re glowing (Like the glowing ones in Children of Atom camps) and place with the crate on the right. Pretty happy with how it’s coming out so far.
Also it’s missing the banner, but will add that momentarily.
Pretty happy with how this turned out. The brass doesn’t shine through real well on the picture, but is just a little more prominent than the photo makes it look. The plants are a mix of lichen and bits of aquarium plant snips. Still need to dirty up the base a little bit.
On a side note, been poking at the Robot Workbench. Making progress but it’s just a little bit at a time.
These are from the same company I posted pictures from a while back with much smaller pieces. Just primed so far. Pretty happy with them for the price, but the bases aren’t quite flat on a couple of them so they’re not quite as nice as the smaller pieces. Still love them though.
I might have just figured out something very useful. I have been looking for “cans” that scale well for this game for a long time now. Well, one of the new NCR bases has a couple of cans on it, and I just so happened to look at one of the models still on the sprue and realized that the shafts are very close in size. I’m going to start saving those snips and make canned goods and such out of them.
This is the base in question with model, and a couple of the small snips to show with it. The raised foot on the model in the image looks like there’s enough of that rod to make two more for example.
I printed a couple of these. My plan is to strip the arms and legs off of the protectron and reattach it to the nukatron core.
One official Protectron for scale. Ten Nukatrons, two I had problems with the arms. At the bottom are NIRA, Cappy, and Bottle.
All of this is WIP and I just wanted to share for giggles and to show how everything scaled together.
This turned out SO much better than I was expecting. Took a little piece of tissue paper and painted it. Tore out a tiny snip of it so it would be nice and torn up. Then I put a dab of superglue on the skeleton and applied it before painting the 11 on the blue. Basically it was an attempt to pay homage to the death screens in the early games of the series. Very pleased with the result.
Should have Bottle Cappy, and NIRA done later today, so will have images of those soon. This base will be used for one of those, not positive which yet but leaning toward Bottle.
Heavily WIP, but been working on robots the last few days and have been doing a few Nuka World themed items. My thoughts on it is that I’ll do mostly the traditional red and white, but will also do a couple of Quantum themed pieces just to mix things up a bit visually.
Would love a proper model for the Mr Frothy to round things out, but I haven’t found anything that could survive rescaling yet. Bottle, Cappy, and Nira are done. The four red Nukatrons and two Eyebots need detail work and bases, everything else is just barely started.
Wanted to do the Purple and Blue with a couple of items as a sort of Quamtum variant and I’ll do yellow lettering or something on them to finish up the look at some point. The white for the Assaultrons is intentional so I can do them in the white and gold theme they appear as in Nuka World. Was going to do the white for the big guy too, but have no idea how I’d redo the head so opted for a Red/white scheme instead with the hope they some day release a proper model for it.
