Page 23 in the rulebook says when you charge you can either place a bonus marker, OR use Battle Cry.
P.36, in the example, says the brute charges, chooses a black die bonus, then uses Battle Cry. Which is correct?

I played assuming the rules, not the example were right. I imagine the rules were changed when the example was already written, and it has been forgotten to update the example accordingly. I don’t know for sure, though, so maybe @WriterJames can clarify?

That’s a good discrepancy I hadn’t noticed. As 51Monster2 said, the rules are right and the example should have been updated to read that the brute charges and, instead of a black or green die as Charge Bonus, chooses Battle Cry.

Since we’re on the subject, I’m curious why battlecry wasn’t called brahmin rush or bull rush, and battlecry used as a sort of aura buff for friendlies to represent rallying/supporting from the model using it. Was that similar to the original plan but the name was never replaced?
