Hi, I hope this ok. Thought I’d do a roundup of all the Dune projects (books, comics, TV, etc) that upcoming. Hopefully there may even be stuff here that can enhance your Dune RPG experience. I’ll update as I find stuff.

Funcom have been given rights to PC and console games based on the Dune franchise. Reports state there is a MMO in the works. Sadly no announcement on their own website here: https://www.funcom.com/

I’ve been doing some more digging into the Funcom game. They are still being fairly tight lipped about most of it though.
We know it is an Open-world survival game in the mould of Conan Exiles. We also know that it is going to be designed as a Game as a Service. Which normally translates to Expensive, but also maintained.

“The biggest, most exciting and most ambitious of our projects is without a doubt the DUNE open-world survival game we’re working on, after having secured the exclusive rights for PC and Console games with this fantastic IP,” Funcom CEO Rui Casais said in the report. “It’s a game that is still a few years away and will be a more ambitious and robust version of Conan Exiles set in the DUNE universe, designed to be a game as a service from the outset.”

Another interesting point is that when Funcom received a large investment from Tencent they explicitly linked it to expanding the scope of the Dune game. There are still a lot of job adverts out which specify that they will be working on Dune.
Given that I’m not expecting to see anything on this before the end of 2022 at the earliest.
