Sutehp's Starship And Starbase Interstellar Emporium

I’ve been on a bit of an Earth-Romulan War kick of late. I just finished reading the ENT relaunch Romulan War novels Beneath the Raptor’s Wings and To Brave the Storm and I’m waiting on baited breath for the guys at The Romulan War to finish Part 2. Both things inspired me to create some more Earth-Romulan War era Romulan starships based on both the 22nd cent bird-of-prey in the Beta Q book and the Utopia Planitia rules.

AtolmAzel was kind enough to grant me permission to use some of his art at DeviantArt for the Romulan starship images. Have a gander:

Warhawk-class bird-of-prey

Kroixus-class bird-of-prey

Sicarius-class cruiser

I should have all three write-ups ready for download in my Starship GoogleDocs folder in a few days. Stay tuned.

I do love a good Romulan ship. :+1:

I might have to use them next time I run a STA campaign…

Damn it, you are giving me inspiration! :scream:

I forgot to mention, I’m having Mr. Gone create Romulan starship sheets for these as well.

Ok, I updated the 22nd century Romulan bird-of-prey with Utopia Planitia stats and named it the V-1 T’Varo class. I just finished the write-ups for the other three Earth-Romulan War era Romulan ships: the V-2 Kroixus bird-of-prey, the V-3 Deldax bird-of-prey, and the V-4 D’deletham cruiser.

They’re in my regular Starships Creation GoogleDocs folder, but I made direct links to them in this post just in case. The Starship PDFs for them will be available soon in the Cory Belote thread; Mr. Gone is busy but he’ll get to them within a few days or so.

Ok, I just finished the write-up and the starship PDF for the Earth-Romulan War era Yorktown-class battleship.

I put all of my so-far-completed Earth-Romulan War era stuff in its own folder here. Feel free to check it out.

I’m still working on the Excelsior II, but I got the write-up and starship PDF for the Obena-class starship from Lower Decks done. As always, the write-up is also available in my GoogleDocs in the Starships Creation/PDF folder while the starship PDF is in the Cory Belote-style Starships PDFs/Federation ships folder (both links available in the OP of this thread).

Just to let you all know, I’m in the process of updating all my pre-Utopia Planitia starship write-ups with updated stats and fluff (including primary shipyards, mission profiles, and naming traditions). I’d provide a list of the ships I’ve finished now, but it would quickly become obsolete in a few hours anyway. Besides, you can tell straight off if one of my starship designs has been updated or not: just look underneath the dimensions stats and see if “Primary Shipyards” is listed or not. If not, it’s an old write-up that still needs to be updated.

With a bit of luck, I should finish all the updates in a week or two.

Oh, something else: Michael Dismuke happened to see my starbase GoogleDocs and he said he’s going to publish a series of articles on them at Continuing Mission in the coming weeks. I also informed him of my other fanmade STA stuff including my write-ups, starship sheet PDFs and Earth-Romulan War stuff. We’ll see what happens. :star_struck:

I finally got it done! Ladies and gentlemen, I give you at long last the most beloved of the old FASA spaceframes: the Chandley-class frigate! Starship PDF and write-up.

P.S. As always, if either link goes dead because I update the files on my GoogleDocs and forget to update the links here, just go to the OP and follow the links to either the Cory Belote starship PDFs or the starship write-ups depending on what you need.

IT HAS BEGUN: Michael Dismuke just published the first of his articles on my starships and starbases, the Akyazi class perimeter action starship, at Continuing Mission. One down, 48 (and counting) to go! :star_struck:

In other news, I just got the TOS Federation-class battleship write-up done. I’m making progress on the Federation-class refit write-up. Once both are done, I’ll post them both to my GoogleDocs.

Just got both the TOS Federation-class dreadnought write-up and starship PDF and the TMP Federation-class dreadnought refit write-up and starship PDF done! (You don’t see three-nacelled starships very often, but it’s awesome when you do!)

As always, if any of these links in this post go dead because I forgot to update the links after edits, just go to the OP of either thread and follow the links to what you need.

EDIT: Ok, it took me a little more than two weeks, but I finally updated all 45 starship write-ups (even the Klingon and Romulan starships!) with their proper Mission Profile fluff and Utopia Planitia calculations. My GoogleDocs folder containing all 45 starship write-ups has been updated accordingly.

Now I’m gonna take a nap.

EDIT 2: So much for the nap. Inspiration struck and now I’m designing the FASA space stations, specifically the Federation Alamo-class defense outpost, the Romulan X-3 Aviary-class defense outpost, and the Klingon Z-4 Deathgame-class defense outpost. As they were originally designed for the FASA board game, they’re not much more than weak TOS era Sigma defense posts, but what can I say? Inspiration struck and maybe someone might find them useful. The Deathgame is done and in my starbase folder (link in the OP), but the Aviary and the Alamo are going to need another day or so to finish. Stay tuned.

I know I’m tooting my own horn here, but Continuing Mission has just published a third article (in four days) of my starships and starbases. Today is the Sigma-class starbase and yesterday was my Watchtower-class starbase.

Still working on the Aviary and Alamo starbases, need another day or two. Stay tuned.

I’ve got an Alamo write-up sitting on my hard drive, too. My first station using the new rules.

I almost have the Alamo and Aviary done, but I had to pull the Deathgame from my GoogleDocs as I think I got its Scale wrong. Looking at the measurements and the diagrams of all three FASA ship silhouettes, I think the Deathgame is significantly smaller than the Aviary and especially smaller than the Alamo. I have to doublecheck, but I think the Deathgame is Scale 8 instead of Scale 10. Likewise, I think the Aviary is Scale 9 instead of 10 as well. (I think the Alamo is still Scale 10, though.)

With a bit of luck, I should have all three outposts ready in a day or two. (I know, I know, I said that twice already in the last four days. Cut me some slack.) :scream:

Why oh why couldn’t anyone have made a ship size comparison diagram that included the FASA ships with the canon ships? Welp, a man can dream…

Do the FASA ships list a length? Could compare them to the lengths for ships listed in the Utopia Planitia book. That should help with a size comparison, non-canonically speaking.

They do, indeed.

Yup, they all do. All three of the FASA starship books even have a page for ship scale silhouette recognition. Assuming all three pages are the same size scale (and they should be), I was able to determine that the Alamo (560 x 211 x 510 meters) is quite a bit larger than the Aviary (498 x 208 x 152 meters) and significantly larger than the Deathgame (330 x 230 x 109 meters). So it looks like my estimations of Scale in my previous post are correct (or as correct as I can estimate).

I just finished tinkering with all three FASA stations and they’re all in my starbase GoogleDocs folder. Follow the link in the OP to get them.

Just added the FASA Cochrane-class colony transport to my starship folder. Yeah, it’s a colony ship so it might not be very practical for an STA campaign, but it has some civilian uses like a big 370 meter long freighter that only needs a crew of 36 people or it can also be converted into a pleasure liner or even a mobile casino. I think the Cochrane could be a useful location for political intrigue or spy missions.

I think this was the easiest ship I ever designed; it hardly needed any revision and took less than a day to complete. :astonished:

My designed starship count now stands at 46. And that’s not even counting my starbases (another 8 designs)! That’s a lot for a single person, right?

I did this on a whim, but I just created a FASA ship silhouette comparison PDF that has to-scale pictures of all the FASA Federation starships I converted to STA stats (and a few I haven’t yet) along with some canon TNG and TOS canon starships like the Galaxy, the Sovereign, the Nebula, the TOS-era Constitution (NOT the SNW visual retcon), and a few others. It’s pretty crude but I think all the pictures on the page are accurate to a millimeter or two. Download it here. Enjoy!

(As always, if this link goes dead for whatever reason, go to the OP and find it in the starships creation → PDF folder.)

EDIT: I might also do versions of the FASA Romulan and Klingon starships in the near future. Maybe.

Starship Design #47: the Ptolemy-class transport/tug! It took me a while to come up with a decent backstory for this ship, but the old Franz Joseph Star Fleet Technical Manual helped a lot for that. Here’s the starship PDF for the Ptolemy.

(As always, if these links go dead for whatever reason, go to the OP and find it in the starships creation → PDF folder or the Corey Belote Style Starship PDFs → Federation Starships PDF folder, respectively.)
