Page 53 Rules of Play: “However, the Skill Dice is not rolled and is considered to be an automatic success regardless of other effects or modifiers. No CPs are gained when using the Critical Attack”

Now I remember an opponent using a Critical Attack to Shoot one of my Coursers, who have Stealth Boy effects activated the whole game with no time limit. Now I remember checking the book and sure enough, it didn’t matter if he failed or succeeded the PER check, it was still an auto hit.

Of course, if it were a regular attack, that attack action would be wasted, but that wasn’t the question.

What may carry The Mechanist in Battle mod as leader of Robot Faction?

Battle Mode is a separate thing (and currently undergoing some kickoff to change things up a little) but as a guide I’d start with the Mechanist using the Mechanist Armour and the Mr Handy Buzzblade (that’s the Mechanist’s weapon).

Could I please get an answer at least on the part of the young deathclaw swipe? Or has the younger version a radius orange strike?

The ‘old’ legendary weapons from the quests (Staggering pipe pistol and the freezing pistol) both have effects only on the nuke-symbol, the newer legendary weapons on star symbols.
Shouldn’t the quest rewards also be changed to star symbols?

The guys are compiling the errata now so I’ll make sure this in included.

I can’t say for certain if it should be stars or nukes but to my knowledge there is no reason why an effect has to trigger on the same symbol unless its happening on the same weapon.

EG: Some models get access to a VATs quick action on a symbol other than the bottle.

But it may be an oversight so we’ll add it to the errata.

Ok, spoken to the guys and here are the responses:

1 - As noted above, the effects can trigger on different icons (even same name effects) so this is played as written.

2 - Checking on the Deathclaw as there are two schools of thought on this now so I’ve got to go back to the source. Should sneak into the FAQ in time though.

And an update on the Deathclaw.

I can confirm this is an error. The Young Deathclaw should have the pushback arrow added to their swipe attack.

Ok, I’m locking this and starting a new thread as we should have covered everything in here now, so a fresh start for wave 4 onwards will help us keep on top of things.
