Probably not. 3cd, decent chance to hit, but no expertise in combat. Makes them terrifying, but manageable.

They also have no vigor, but a LOT of soak.

Yes it will work nicely for the scenario I envisage. A shade summoned from the corpse of a Derketa follower by a priest of Derketa.
