I was unable to reproduce today my recurring problems from yesterday. If I have a better idea on why this had happened I will write here.
For the moment thanks for your 2 pages klingon.
As a side note, maybe the talent area could be editable, this way you can add experience gained ones.
So, since it’s not released, when can we expect to see UP on the generator?
There’s a lot of stuff that needs to be added/built, so there’s a bit of work. My guess is probably around the end of October.
That’s subject to how much free time I have, obviously.
BCing you
ok, figured as such but hadn’t heard eaither way so I thought I’d ask. looking forward to designing my own… TOTALLY CANON Oddessy class ship
I really love this generator, it has saved me many times.
Im currently trying to run this game (on stream) to a group of south american players, the problem is that their english isnt very good.
i was wondering how many are the chances to implement different languages for the character creation. Hell, im willing to do a full translation of everything to spanish if possible.
google translate can accept url, change languages above as you see fit, of course Starfleet translation is funny but if English is a problem it can help.
Hi Joe. Welcome to the Modiphius forums!
I think it’s an excellent idea. I live in a country that’s officially bilingual (but Spanish is not one of those languages, I’m afraid), so I totally get the importance of multi-language support.
I’m not gonna lie: there’d be a bunch of things to do and I suspect that you’re underestimating the effort involved in “full translation”. But it’s definitely something I’d like to see happen. The biggest impediment, obviously, is the translation: I don’t speak Spanish.
betatester’s interim suggestion is a good one. But their response highlights a need to know how Spanish-language versions of Trek refer to Trek-specific things like “Starfleet” and “the Klingon Empire”. It might be worthwhile to run a bunch of the text through Google translate and then revise the output to sound more natural and consistent with Spanish-language versions of the show. A native Spanish speaker (or someone who is very fluent) would be incredibly helpful there.
I’m currently trying to implement support for Utopia Planitia. Perhaps I can more fully assess multi-language support after that.

Even if. Starfleet is translated and become “Flotta estellar” it’s understandable. I’m not a Spanish speaker myself, just from southern France and I think it’s usable. The link above sent you to the Spanish version
Qu’est-que on dit “Starfleet” en francais?
@bcholmes There’s already an official German translation of the Core Rules and some supplements in German. When the tool is multi-lingual, I’ll get in touch with Uhrwerk, the german publisher, what they think about taking the translation into the tool.
C’est une bonne question! Je ne sais pas.
Cool.

We don’t translate the proper name Starfleet we keep it in English, at least in France, perhaps Canadians think otherwise. If I had to translate it nevertheless it would be “flotte de l’étoile”, very similar to Google Spanish (and the question is: Comment dit-on “Starfleet” en français?).
That’s good to know. Thanks.
My French isn’t good enough to speak with authority on this topic.
(Not only was I only barely average in French class, but a few years back, I was learning kreyòl ayisyen, and that made my French even worse. I particularly remember one trip, coming back to Toronto via Montreal and when I stopped in the Montreal airport to grab some food, the person behind the counter asked me what I wanted in French and I had just spent 10 days in Ayiti speaking kreyòl and what came out of my mouth was a horrible mish-mash of French and kreyòl. It was a mess.)

My sincerest apologies. It’s literally been decades. I was in France for a week, a few years ago, and all went pretty smooth. But that’s a common experience for a German visiting Strasbourg.
(On that note: One of the best (unplanned) jokes in TNG is the scene in one of the first episodes where Data lectures Picard on “the obscure language called ‘French’” earning a disgruntled look from Picard, of course.
They did not change the subject in the translation, so Data talked about French as a “langue obscure” – in French. Maybe I have a strange sense of humour but that one got me, hard. )
Anyway, there definetly should be a Klingon translation. Qapla’ !
I’ve noticed that Technical Test-bed is missing from the Mission Profiles for ship creation.
I didn’t like that one.
Kidding. Bug. I think it should be fixed, now.
BC
Not showing up when when not using Utopia Planitia even though it’s a core profile.
Oh, hey. I even see why that is. I’ll push a fix shortly.
BC the sloppy
Hey there, love the character creator! Is there any way of adding the talent descriptions on the TOS sheets - maybe on a second page if there isn’t enough room on the first one? Could perhaps add upbringing/career details, or space for logs to fill in a second page perhaps?
I’ll add it to the backlog.
