Well, IC post is up, although, I’d like to edit. I posted what I had because I didn’t want to lose it.
Weirdly, though, the post was flagged as needing approval - no idea what that’s about!? If it posts overnight, just know that it kind of ends abruptly. I was thinking of stopping there and asking IC what questions you had before continuing but wanted to see how much of a wall of text it was.
Hmmm, did it have a picture in it? That’s the only thing that I could think about why it needs approval.
This forum has a bunch of weird and backwards rules.
I’ve noticed that they censor a lot of words. Some of them are bizarre choices…
Is that why I’ve never seen a post with antidisestablishmentarianism in it?
I think words like paedophilia, ■■■■■■, ■■■■ tend to be automaticaly censored, but I’m just trying to figure it out now.

It flags words that have unacceptable meanings in slang. Some words skirt the edge, have multiple meanings both acceptable and un, or contain unacceptable words inside a larger word. Words that aren’t outright blocked are automatically sent to me to adjudicate. Sorry about the inconvenience, but we want to make this a friendly place for everyone including the young uns.
To be honest I prefer that to some of the less moderated forums I am part of.

OK, IC post is up and has been edited to provide a jumping off point for you. Apologies for the wall of text, I tried to balance enough information to start an investigation without dropping a whole chapter of setting detail. I promise that will be the last info dump and you can get to driving the action.
@Modiphius-SteveH, no worries, man! I figured it was something easy. I was actually thinking I may have tripped a circuit breaker by logging in from multiple devices. I have a tendency to flip back and forth. It was no problem and I definitely understand the issue. I do recognize these are official forums so probably do have tighter content guidelines. I’ll try to keep it mostly PG-13 (although, some four letter words are bound to appear).

I think the multi function is primarily for switching ammo types on the fly. Otherwise any weapon can be loaded with the specialised ammo for it’s type. It just takes a minor action or the speed loader perk to switch types.
@Solodice I haven’t looked too closely at the various gear lists but if you feel like this fits a low level mission, I’m fine with it. I’ll trust your judgement there but if you want to make some skill rolls for certain items, I’ll follow your lead.
Feel free to have the team banter some more with Aowen if you want. I’ll likely look to have you all on the ground in Sambor Duk some time tomorrow afternoon/evening US time. Will be short and to the point so I can get out of the way and let you drive the action.
Also, a quick note about the Tin Ka Ping Foundation and cube donation: I’ve only been using Core and researched as much as I could about cubes and resurrection. It seemed rather basic and not very nuanced so made a call to have people able to donate their cubes to charity with the thought being the donor could contribute in some meaningful way via cube bank visitation while awaiting resurrection, which may even be sponsored by the charity in question for those that can’t immediately afford the process.
Any initial feedback on the set-up and/or PbP process? Anything you’d like do and/or anything I can do more/less of?
The things I’d say that would need some Lifestyle/Thievery rolls would be:
Lan’s Breaker reloads (asking for extra mags of rare ammo beyond here usual carry number might be a hard sell)
Zhuang’s Sniper Rifle (a little on the heavy side of firepower for just an investigation)
Wen’s Medium Combat Armor (SWAT gear for an investigation? Gonna have to explain that one to the quartermaster.)
Everything else would be easy to get and makes sense for an investigation.
This fits in with the lore perfectly. The state mostly handles resurrections because of price and regulation (and to keep a monopoly on it) but private cube banks are a dim a dozen. The charity is actually a really cool idea with them using the sheuts to help out with the charity and maybe help with resurrection costs and placement. Fits right in with YJs more community centric stance as well. It would also be a nice boost to his Hao lu (Good Way) score (talked about in the YJ sourcebook). It’s similar to the modern day China social score system. However its not perfect and has its own internal issues.
One thing that I’ve done for Infinity PbP is keep a running counter of Momentum and Heat in every update post. This informs the team on how much they have to work with after an update. Makes it easier than flipping back and forth between the OOC thread and the IC thread looking to see how much Momentum is available as well.
Multi weapons are the ones mostly commonly found that can use special ammo. You can take a weapon that uses standard ammo and mod it to use a specific special ammo (like Lan’s Breaker Combi Rifle). Multi weapons have the most flexibility though as they can change out the special ammo they are using.
