Multiple mods for weapons

According to the rules, it looks like only one mod per weapon is allowed. This seems kind of illogical when looking at a model such as some of the new raider models equipped with various rifles. For example, it is clear that some of them include a scope and a suppressor. Similarly, the Disciples get a bonus for ‘automatic handmade rifles’ and some of them clearly have a bayonet.

I understand things could get a little crazy if someone could throw on a half dozen mods on an item, but limiting to one seems overly restrictive.

Are there any rules I’m missing that allow multiple mods on handmade rifles in particular or are people expected to just pick one mod and ignore the actual model equipment?

I remeber reading this somewhere but can’t seem to find it any more. Could you provide the refference?

As far as multuple mods, I personally would have no problem with my opponent taking such, as long as they paid the caps. I find that, just like IRL, a multitude of weaker units will trump a smaller number of strong units.
The WYSIWYG convention of many other wargames doesn’t apply to Wasteland Warfare (although I try to approximate it as much as possible to save time on explanations ), so yea just ignore what’s on the model for the most part.
