Looking so much forward to Dune...but Adam Koebel?!

Every time I comment on this thread my posts are flagged as inappropriate, though they really aren’t, and eventualy come back on again. This is getting tiresome and annoying and it is an obvious proof that no matter how Modiphius and the woke mob would like to make us believe otherwise cancel culture IS real. Modiphius and their games are being targeted by people, organized or not, with some agenda, that can be as clear as just cancelling this Adam Koebel or as nebulous as… well, I couldn’t care less about woke cliques agendas…
As I do not wish to engage in any more discussions, nor to be constanly flagged, and as I gave up on Modiphius’ games (pandering to the woke lunatics is not my cup of tea) I would like to know how can I erase this account - I can’t find an option for that. @Modiphius-SteveH can you help me here?

You are overreacting!

Maybe, but I had enough of this.

Don’t you realize that they will won if you leave!

Oh yes, I do realize that, but they have already won, haven’t they? Honestly I don’t really care about Adam Koebel. In fact, I don’t like him at all. He’s probably as bad (maybe even worse) than his own enemies (or rivals, or whatever these guys are). Koebel’s reputation is not the hill where I am prepared to die - his freedom of speech has already been compromised anyway, so there’s nothing to do.
More important than that, Modiphius has shown already that they have either joined the woke mob of their own free will, or they have been coerced to appease them. As this has happened before quite often, we all know what follows: apologizing for past mistakes, promise to do better in the future, publish a whole chapter on how Lovecraft was a hedious bigot on their A!C 2d20 corebook, and the usual “we’ll be good woke boys in the future to avoid a twitterstorm” stuff.
So it goes…

Good point. I wonder how long it will be before Conan becomes targeted for sensitivity reasons - images of slavery, chauvinism, mysogyny, oppression, slavery, and “damsels in distress”. I mean, with there already being criticism and condemnation leveled at Fairy Tales such as Sleeping Beauty, how long before Conan gets scoured with the ideology of Presentism disguised as sensitivity and consideration.

Thank you. Your statement puts to word my concerns much better than my own.

Perhaps Conan still escaped that, as the books are - as far as I know - all ready. There were sensitivity consultants for Conan the Adventurer, but the people they chose did a good job. Of course, it still isn’t printed, so that can change.

I still think that you are overreacting.

I doubt it because the PDF is already out.

I will not contest that, I’m given to overracting, it’s one of my multiple faults. Another is to loose interest in games when the publishers start acting like Modiphius. I’m having trouble in maintaining interest in the ones I actually already have (three game lines, and some more stuff), so yeah, overreacting pretty much sums what I’m experiencing.
Anyway, let’s face it, if I didn’t overreact probably no one would have noticed these last few posts (which will be flagged as inappropriate later, I suppose).

And using a tone which can be considered being insulting seems to be another one. I can understand why someone flagged those two posts. But that’s still not a reason to leave. Better wait until you are banned. I was banned from two forums because in both cases the moderator did not like the (very aggressive) tone of my criticism of the latest edition of Das Schwarze Auge. In one case the ban came half a year after I wrote the piece in question and the moderator had changed. What’s the moral of the story? Wait, wait, wait and stay active. If you are right you will eventually get banned, but if you are wrong, nothing will happen and your whole (over)reaction was strictly for the birds…

I’ve watched all of the videos documenting this Far Verona scandal over and over and I just can’t understand the outrage.

  • Even before the session immediately ended there were so many narrative opportunities for a clear lecherous advance by an NPC to be resisted by the PC.
  • There was a narrative safe word between two PCs (the other being outside the door and ready to spring in and help).
  • There were multiple sustained pauses between the GM and the PC so that the PC could resist the NPC.
  • This was a group well-versed in the use of X-cards and virtually setup so that the use of an X-card could have, even if not officially implemented, been evoked immediately behind the scenes in a private chat window without embarrassment or disruption.
  • This was a scenario in which the alleged “sexual assault” literally consists of an absurdly anodyne moment in which a lecherous NPC mechanic puts an ■■■■■■ chip in another android PC.

I see no grounds for psychological damages on the part of the player, and I see instead a g_y man targeted and gaslighted into believing he is a sexual predator, gaslighted into believing he needs psychological help and actually being forced to see a psychologist, disband his youtube hobbies and fired from his writing contracts.

Nothing justifies this. Nothing justifies the implicit puritanical sex-negativity undergirding all of this. Those of us old enough to remember how common censorship of sexual content used to be in the U.S. and how hard we fought against it should be appalled by this resurgent censorship.

So, you are suggesting I should be a troll (or something like that)? Interesting prospect… I might consider that. But what was the problem with Das Schwarze Auge and why did they ban you? Is there a similarity with this case?

No, no, no, no! That was a bad example. It is always better to be civil and not aggressive! (And the posts in the question were aggressive.) If your posts still get flagged then either they are still not civil or there is really some one out there who is after you.
But often you and no one else is to blame if one of your posts get flagged.

No. I simply did not like the new rules, and still do not. Many too many changes and a huge loss of complexity and completely botched beta-phase. And all this because the new editor in chief did not like the old edition.

That’s very interesting…
Typical US double standards!

Here in Germany a YouTuber named Gronkh got fired from his online con appearance because of a stupid joke in a let’s play video of a stupid x-rated game he made months ago, which one person who was actively looking for such videos took it the wrong way and started a campaign against him. In some way that’s worse, because she was looking for dirt on him.

I am usually not agressive, maybe these last posts were because I feel Modiphius has capitulated to the woke mob and I forgot my manners… But I had flagged posts about this exact same subject without being agressive. I don’t think “they” are out to get me, it’s nothing personal, probably they don’t even notice whom they are flagging. They probably do it to most people disagreeing with their agenda.

I agree with the whole comment, but I would say this is the most relevant.

Interesting…
Only two post in this thread are currently marked as flagged, both are yours and both are not very civil…
Both can been seen as insulting! Perhaps it is really you who is to blame for getting his posts flagged and not ‘them’.

I didn’t say it was right now, did I? It was weeks or months ago, and then they were made public again. It didn’t happen only with my posts. You can probably find a post by some moderator arguing about too many posts being flagged. But don’t worry too much about that, I will be leaving soon, I’m not a troll. As soon as this conversation ends, either the moderators expel me or I will just get out. It would be a waste of time not to do it.
