Fall of Imperium question

Masters of Dune is a Campaign Book. Fall of the Imperium is Campaign Sourcebook. What exactly does that mean?

They are a series of linked adventures. The Book/sourcebook split is mainly cosmetic.

Masters of Dune is more free-form, you can do most of the adventures in any order. There are a few fixed points, but the others can be tackled as the GM/players decide.

Fall of the Imperium is more linear, most of the adventures follow on from each other. Though the arcs are separated by years in some cases and the GM has plenty of scope to add additional adventures in between them.

They are much the same in terms of having a lot of adventures, but Fall also has a chapter on playing the setting after the fall, hence also sourcebook.
