The science division supplement gives us advice on how to use spatial phenomena, like e.g. ion storms and the like (p. 90 f.). However, I’m wondering about the interval some effects would occur.
See for example Class III ion storms (etc.) requiring a task:
Starships with active shielding can withstand the radiation and charged particles, but will require the starship to succeed in a (…) Task, (…). The vessels’ Power rating is reduced (…) for every point the Task fails by for the duration of the storm,
I assume this is per scene?!
And later, for a Class V:
Any starship Task has its Complication range increased (…) due to the severe interference with its systems, and must make a (…) Task, (…) and have its Power rating reduced (…) for every point the Task fails by for the duration of the storm.
So this is… per task?
What do you think?
I assume this is per scene?!
Yeah, I’d assume per scene for as long as the ship/crew are in the storm or for the duration of the storm.
So this is… per task?
Yeah, I’d assume per task for as long as the ship/crew are in the storm or for the duration of the storm.
Moral: Don’t linger in an ion storm.

Thanks, @Modiphius-Jim ! It’s really great to have first-level support by the guys who actually write this stuff!
