Living Campaign General Discussion (Season 1)

Always been 2371.

Thanks,
So the Dominion War takes place after the Living Campaign season 1.

That works. I just needed to get my timeline straight.

For some reason I thought the Living Campaign started after the end of VOY.
Don’t know where I got that impression

Hi I’m not certain how it all works but was wondering if there is a way to access the previous adventures?

Yes, there is. On the Modiphius-Website, hold your mouse onto ā€œGAMESā€ in the navigation bar. A menu will pop up. In that menu, hold your mouse onto ā€œSTAR TREKā€, it will open a submenu with a link to the living campaign website. There are the all the missions.

Or just click this link to directly access them.

Using any search engine with the term ā€˜star trek living campaign’ will likely do the trick too.

Living campaign ship sheet for Thunderchild seems to have quantum torpedoes damage but it doesn’t have it in the Talents.

So, Season 1 finale is close to celebrate its first anniversary. Is there any indication whether (and possibly: when) there will be a renewal of the LC for a second season?

My group is about to complete the season 1 finale, so today I’m just starting to write my own season 2. I don’t want to think how big an undertaking this is. I’m just putting my head down and going forward into the new frontiers.

My group is in the same place. I’ve been sprinkling these in, and am shocked at the conclusion and delay on any communication on season 2, having just reviewed the last TNG era today.

Can anyone at Modiphius confirm another season is still planned?

I went ahead and planned our own Season 2 since we can’t wait. I posted Silk Roads 2372 on Continuing Mission. It goes north of Shackleton but a great continuation if you finished 2371 like we did.

That’s great stuff TonyPi, but what if… spoilers… the players leave the dimension?
Garrett

My players did. I ran them through an adventure in the other dimension. Maybe I’ll write up our adventure as a rough outline. There are some campaign-specific things they used but I can give some alternate solutions.

More adventures in the Shackleton Expanse are forthcoming. News to be shared when it’s ready. Thanks for your patience and keep sharp!

Here’s the write up for the adventure I ran for my players to move things forward after the finale. https://continuingmissionsta.com/2020/01/04/living-campaign-supplemental-beyond-the-2371-finale/

Looking forward to more LC adventures too!

I like your take on the other dimension and will liberally borrow from your piece, but I added new races, plots and mega plots the crew must deal with before returning to their own dimension.

We are about to start the campaign and now I struggle to choose which ship (TNG era) the players should get. I would give them the Venture, but looking at the stats, isn’t the galaxy class a bit too strong? Would have to adjust most of the combat scenes to make it a challenge, or does it fit quite well?

Bear in mind that there are a couple of scenarios that are dependent on the ship selected (the choice of initial scenario and the crew’s task in the season finale are both ship-specific).

There are a couple of points where a given ship could affect the outcome (the presence of Thunderchild in the convoy escort scenario for example), but either these are adjustable or it’s just not an issue.

Most challenges are dependent on the players, not the ship. Actually, even with the combat scenarios this is the case, as number of combat actions per round is usually the deciding factor, not the power of the ship, and this based on the number of players acting - although Thunderchild (not so much Venture) can deliver a greater punch in a single shot.

I would choose your ship based on what you want the players to focus on. Thunderchild is the proverbial hammer - firepower is likely to be a popular answer to everything - while Venture is about bringing overwhelming science to bear. Choose Bellerophon if you want your senior crew to get their hands dirty!
