3 Actions in Combat

Ok, so, as I’m understanding the rules of Combat, it is possible for a PC to take an Attack Action, then spend a Determination Point and take a 2nd Attack Action, then spend 2 Momentum/Threat to keep initiative and take a 3rd Attack Action at a +1 Difficulty. Is that correct?

In an extremely litigious interpretation, yeah.
As a GM, I’d say no.

IMO, Using Determination that way is still “Keep the Initiative”… so it would be only one of

  • 2 Momentum and +1 Diff
  • 1 Determination and +0 diff
  • An extra action from a Talent at +0, possibly as a separate turn.

I understand the intent of the rules as keeping alternation maximized. See Dune CRB p165. But YMMV.

Also, generally, failed rolls prevent “Keep the Initiative” as they generally prevent momentum/threat spend. Determination is allowed in such cases… but it is overkill much of the time.
