Just wondering if anyone else is seeing the M on the Modiphius forum App slowly shrinking?
I feel like my phone is trying to gaslight me by slowly making it disappear.
Is that an official app? I canât find any reference to it in the google play or apple stores. Is it possible itâs just an âadd webpage to home screenâ type of thing?
Iâve been seeing the same thing on my phone app. It seems to be getting smaller every day - even if Iâm sure that itâs just my imagination at this point.
I added it years ago so I cant even remember where i got it from.
Looking at settings it says I downloaded it from google play, but the link no longer works.
Presumably it has been pulled and the latest android update has broken it somehow.
At least it isnt just me.
Mine is about to shrink to the quantum realm now I think.
There definitely isnât an official app for this forum, so no idea where this came from. Let me know if you find out!
Is your app using some kind of navigator?
In this case a style editor extension can help.
Iâve done some digging, but as it has been cleared from the Google play store most of the data is missing.
It works off chrome as some kind of full skin (so you cant open other tabs etc), but doesnât ask for any additional permissions. It seems these are really easy to create.
Looking at google they did a mass purge of apps that hadnât been updated in 2 years.
So I am assuming that this was a fan app that someone tossed together a few years ago and then just left until google purged it.
So on https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/48743496/how-to-add-a-web-shortcut-not-an-app-to-home-screen the top response notes that a user canât decide whether a website on chrome is added as an app or as a link to a webpage, itâs up to the site. Testing with these forums, I can see that the âadd to homescreenâ link on other webpages is âinstall appâ for this site. I assume that whatever forum software is being used determines this, and googling further indicates it is likely a âProgressive Web Appâ function.
My suggestion would be to uninstall the current âappâ and then go to the website on chrome, and install the âappâ from the menu there.
