I am creating a Westermarck Scout and doing so gives the Hunter talent for both Homeland, and as a Clanfolk caste talent.

So basically its a wasted talent slot, right?

Hunter talent can have a maximum of 2 ranks. So getting the talent from both homeland and caste will put you at the maximum of 2 ranks. This means instead of spending 2 momentum or adding 2 doom to gain the benefits you can either spend 2 momentum or add 1 doom.
